Johari Bazaar or the Jewellery Market is home to shops that deal in gemstones of both the precious and semi-precious varieties. In the lanes of Jaipur, particularly in Haldiyon-ka-rasta, Jadiyon-ka-rasta, and Gopalji-ka-rasta, you can watch the skilled craftsmen create beautiful bright pieces of minakari and kundan jewellery. Badi Chupar and M.I. Road are also popular shopping zones.
Fabric, Tie and Dye Prints and Sanganer Prints
Beautiful colourful patterns are created on fabric by using two popular methods, namely the tie-dye and block printing. The fabric is tied up at different places and then dyed in multiple colours to create unique patterns using Bandhej or tie-dye method. In block printing, uniform patterns are created on the fabric by using hard-carved wooden blocks dipped in natural dyes. Sanganer specialises in block carving and printing.
